Using Hands-On Practice exercises and Web Site Case Studies to motivate readers, Web Development and Design Foundations with XHTML includes all the necessary lessons to guide students in developing highly effective Web sites. A well-rounded balance of hard skills (such as XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript ) and soft skills (such as accessibility, ethics, e-commerce, and Web site promotion strategies) presents everything beginning Web developers need to know. In the Fourth Edition, cascading style sheets--now the standard in Web design--are introduced earlier in the text and are then integrated throughout. Ethics and accessibility issues receive increased coverage, and a new Design Activities supplement offers hands-on design projects to supplement those presented in the text.
It's coolReviewed by DarkQ, 2010-02-28
I like the book. It goes into a lot of detail on how yo write
XHTML. It starts you off from the beginning any really describes
everything to you down to them meaning of every text.
The book however is cluttered with words. I didn't expect to see it
full of pictures or anything, after all it's an XHTML book. But
even math text book writers are finding more and more ways to make
reading the text book interesting and easier to read.
The writer does however engage the reader with most of the stuff
you will learn, so that's a big plus.
But, lump after lump of long winded paragraphs are a good way to
make readers get really tired, really fast.
Great bookReviewed by Jen C, 2009-12-07
This book came to me just as described. Very fast shipping. Excellent for a beginner in web development.
Extremely well-writtenReviewed by Don Tullous, 2009-09-28
This book is very well laid out and clear to understand with logical excercises. It provides website support with additional learning files. Although not inexpensive, it provides an excellent way to learn XHTML and cascading style sheets. It is the text used for my website development college class.
Verbose speechReviewed by non-linear, 2009-09-01
It is an abject book with too much money that doesn't justify them with verbose speech and very difficult to read it without a boring feeling...Web developing is not history or philosophy...A book must be explanatory but not verbose and must have rigorous structure.
This books is a dreamReviewed by M. J. Mcinroe Curtis, 2009-06-11
This book walks you through the history of the internet, the development of web pages and then step by step shows you the user how to create dynamic webpages.
